Virginia – The Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) recently expanded the full-body screening program by 200%, adding X of LINEV’s X-ray security systems for full body screenings.

The U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics reports a 44% increase in the number of deaths in state prisons in recent years. According to the National Institute of Justice in the United States (NIJ), the presence of contraband inside correctional facilities, such as weapons, drugs, and alcohol poses a serious security concern for correctional facilities.

Security measures are being implemented at correctional facilities across the country and turning to body scanners. The use of body scanners provides staff with valuable tools for detecting contraband items on individual bodies without invading their personal space, enhancing both the staff’s and inmates’ safety.
