X-ray protection against weapons of mass destruction (WMD) is in high demand for public spaces in the US and Canada. Canada is also using policies to detect WMD threats through programs aimed at countering the spread of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons and their related technology and knowledge. Similarly, in the US, under JP 3-40, Joint Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, the approach involves three key principles: prevent, protect, and respond. These principles are implemented through specialized activities such as defeating pathways for WMD, defeating WMD themselves, and responding to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incidents.
